2018 International Conference on Information and Social Science

Welcome to the 2018 International Conference on Information and Social Science (ISS-Sydney 2018). The conference will be held in Sydney, Australia during December 17-19, 2018. The goal of ISS-Sydney 2018 is to provide a place for scholars, experts and professionals with interdisciplinary backgrounds related to information and social sciences to exchange new ideas and latest researches face to face, to establish business or research network and to look for global partners for future collaboration. It is anticipated that a broad range of research and applied topics will be covered during the conference.

Conference Chair

Professor Chunghuey Huang

National Taipei University, Taiwan

Dr. Chunghuey Huang currently works at the Department of Accountancy, National Taipei University. Professor Huang focuses her research in capital market, earnings management, and international financial accounting standards. She served as the Chairperson of Department of Accountancy during 2006 to 2009, and was also in charge of the AACSB office in Business School, National Taipei University. Professor Huang has served as an independent director for various public companies. Dr. Huang got her Ph.D. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in USA, Master degree from National Chen Chi University, and Bachelor degree from National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, respectively. She published several papers in the following journals including NTU Management Review, Taiwan Accounting Review, Soochow Journal of Economics and Business, Contemporary Management Research, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, and International Journal of Business and Information.

Professor Chunshuo Chen

Dhurakij Pundit University, Thailand

Dr. Chun-Shuo Chen is the Dean of China-ASEAN International College (CAIC) at Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU) in Thailand. His current research interests focus on corporate environmental management, green marketing, corporate social responsibility, brand equity, and consumer behavior. His dissertation was awarded the 2013 Endorsed Ph. D. Research by the Center for Global Change and Sustainability Science of National Taipei University. Moreover, his research has been published in journals such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change: An International Journal, Environmental Engineering Science, Social Behavior and Personality: An International Journal, The Journal of Global Business Management, International Journal of Business, International Journal of Business and Information, and Journal of Consumer Marketing.

Professor Jengfang Chen

Macquarie University, Australia

Jengfang Chen is an associate professor in the department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University, a public research university based in Sydney, Australia. He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from National Taipei University in 2005. He have broad research interests spanning the areas of auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, and accounting information systems. His research work has been published or accepted in high-quality journals including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance, Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, Journal of law, Finance, and Accounting, Abacus, Corporate Governance: An International Review, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

Professor Helen Hu

University of Melbourne, Australia

Helen Hu is an Associate Professor in Strategy and International Business in the Department of Management and Marketing, the University of Melbourne. She is the Director of the Centre for Asian Business and Economics (CABE) in the University of Melbourne. Her research work has been nominated and awarded at international conferences including the Academy of Management (AOM), Academy of International Business (AIB), Strategic Management Society (SMS), among others. She has also been awarded Deans’ Prize for Exceptional Distinction in Research and several Deans’ Certificates for Research Excellence and for Teaching Excellence at the University of Melbourne. In addition, Helen was appointed as an Honorary Research Fellow at Monash University, where she obtained her PhD in international business. Dr. Helen’s research interests are corporate governance with focuses on boards of directors, ownership structure, IPO, and internationalization of Asian firms. Her work has been published in Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, Journal of Business Ethics, and Asia Pacific Journal of Management, among others. She currently serves on the editorial review boards of Asia Pacific Journal of Management and Management and Organization Review, and as a guest editor of an upcoming special issue of Global Strategy Journal. She is also a regular commentator on Sky News, SBS and China Radio International.

Professor Debabrata Biswas

University of Maryland, U.S.A.

Dr. Debabrata Biswas is an Assistant Professor of Food Safety in the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences, and the Center for Food Safety and Security Systems at the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Biswas is a bacteriologist and has committed to develop crosscutting research programs in food safety area. In recent years, he has initiated several research projects on bacteriology specifically host-foodborne bacteria interactions with the researchers from Food Science, Biological Engineering, Plant, and Animal Sciences. To achieve the goal, his researches target to control of enteric bacterial pathogens including Salmonella, enterohemorrhagic E. coli (0157:H7), Listeria monocytogenesand Campylobacter jejuni in foods and their colonization in animal reservoirs. His research also investigates the role of natural organic products in control of foodborne bacterial colonization in animals and mechanism of antimicrobial activity of these components.

Professor Nobutaka Odake

Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan

Dr. Nobutaka Odake is an Emeritus professor of department of architecture, civil engineering and industrial management engineering in Nagoya Institute of Technology. He graduates from department of Chemical Engineering, Tokyo University in 1974 and got Doctor of Engineering degree from Nagoya Institute of Technology late in 2002. Dr. Odake join several professional academic society, such as Japan Association for Management Systems, Japan MOT Society, Japan Society for Intellectual Production, Japan Society for Science Policy and Research Management, Japan Society for Production Management. He devoted himself in Education and Research. Especially in academy-industry cooperation, regional development, innovation system and technology management. Currently, he is in charge of “Workforce development for shop manager program” in Nagoya Institute of Technology. Dr. Odake published several papers in prestige journal such as Production Management, Standardization Studies, etc.
